It's been awhile since I've posted on the blog, so I thought I would post a quick message to update everyone on the progress of our home!
It has been a really busy and exciting month for me as I have just started a new job at my company and also got accepted to grad school. Eric and I are trying to re-group after tests and interviews and focus on getting house stuff done before the fall comes.
Currently we are hoping to get three out of four bedrooms turned around in the next month or so. We've been busy taking wallpaper off, painting, and updating doors/light-fixtures, etc. It's coming along and we're just getting to the exciting part of picking out furniture/bedding/decorations, etc.
Here are a few before and after pics of one of our bedrooms. We picked to work on this room first because we knew it would be the biggest pain to tackle with the fabric-like wallpaper. Quite the difference paint and wood floors can make!! We love how bright the room looks now :)
Thanks for stopping by,
This room was previously a study/den for Mr. Cass. It was lined with bookshelves and was such a dark and dingy room. It took us days upon days trying to get this room ready to paint. Notice the crazy ceiling too. Tommy was nice enough to drywall over it and wow did he do a great job!
and our lovely old drapes....
and matching carpet....can you believe people actually decorate entire homes in this gaudy decor?
The color is Philadelphia Cream from Benjamin Moore. Not sure what furniture will be going in there just yet though, but since it is so neutral we have lots of options.
Slowly but surely this house is coming along....
