Fireplace Complete

Hello Friends! This weekend was so productive. Eric and I (with the help of Tommy Bley) just completed our first major project on the house....the fireplace!!

If you've been following the blog you've seen before/in progress/after pictures of our living room area, as well as the inspiration behind our idea to build this fireplace focal wall in the first place. We are so happy with the results and are excited to have bookshelves put in on both sides of the fireplace sometime this summer.

Also, the second set of pictures show the new floor we put in the kitchen. Compared to stained carpet, the nice new floors really look sharp (our standards were pretty low before). Our old, outdated home is beginning to feel cozy and cute.

We couldn't be happier to finally get our first floor presentable for having people over! Anyone up for coming over for dinner?

Thanks for stopping by,

Courtney

here we are taking up the multi-colored speckled linoleum in the kitchen. it took hours..........

but it was worth the sweat equity....

we still need to put trim up in the kitchen...maybe that's the next weekend project!

  6. Wow, I can't wait to come home and see it in real life!! These pictures make it look great so it's got to be incredible actually being there. I still remember those lovely carpets and wallpaper...oh and don't forget the mirrors. It's like a whole new place! Good Job Eric and Court!

  7. You guys have done such an amazing job on your house! I have enjoyed looking through some of your old posts, you are inspiring! Your blog popped up when I was searching something in Western Springs. We were actually in old town this past weekend for an open house that was sadly cancelled last min, they had four offers in a short time. Keep up the good work!
