Welcome to the Neighborhood

For friends and family that live far away, we wanted to tell you about our new little town!

We made the move from the fun and young suburb of Oak Park back to Eric's hometown of Western Springs. It's located just 16 miles from the Chicago loop, making our train ride a short 23 minutes each morning into the city. While Western Springs is surrounded by all of Chicago's amenities, it still maintains the a small town feel--which we love!

A few fun facts:

1) Around the turn of the 18th century, Potawatomi Native Americans settled in the Western Springs area. Potawatomi artifacts still can be found buried in the Springdale neighborhood (which is where we live)!

2) Christian Evangelist Billy Graham once lived and preached here at the beginning of his ministry.

3) In 2007, Newsweek ranked it the 2nd best town in the US to raise a family.
